New Delhi: A fire broke out at one of the gas wells of Oil and Natural Gas Corp's (ONGC) in Andhra Pradesh this morning (Sept 8, 2005) but no loss of life or property was reported.

"Fire broke at a high-pressure gas well at Tandavapalli village, 6-km from Amalapuram. It is a blow-out," said a company official.

No loss of life or property was reported and reasons for the fire were being investigated. However, production from the field may be slightly affected as this was a gas-producing well.

A team of senior company officials have rushed to the spot and were trying to control the blaze.
