Son of slain RJD chief arrested for killing Rajo Saturday, September 10 2005 16:17 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Shambu Yadav, son of a former district Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) President was arrested for the killing of former MP Rajo yesterday night ( Sept 9, 2005) by unidentified gunmen posing as workers at the Congress party office in Sheikhpura, the police said.
The Sheikhpura town police also registered FIR against Ashok Chaudhary, a former Bihar minister in the Rabri Devi Government and Lattu Yadav district RJD president and five others for the killing.
Four men who came on two motorcycles to the party office opened fire killing the Congress leader.
Rajo Singh, a two-term Congress MP from Begusarai and six-time member of Bihar assembly was an accused in the killing of nine RJD workers, including the then district RJD president Kashi Nath Yadav in 2001 and was on bail.
Rajo Singh's son Sanjay, also a former Bihar minister, is in Munger jail for his alleged involvement in the massacre.
Shambu Yadav, who was arrested late last night from his residence, was the son of Kashi Nath Yadav.
Kashi Nath Yadav was considered close to former minister Ashok Chaudhary, who was at loggerheads with Rajo Singh and his son over establishing supremacy in Sheikhpura.
The police also found the body this morning of a villager who had gone to the Congress office and was killed in the firing by the gunmen.
The body of Shyam Nandan Singh, a resident of Lohan village in Sheikhpura district, was found in the bushes at the Congress party office, the police said.
