Fight to continue till formation of Telangana: Rao Saturday, September 10 2005 18:14 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Hyderabad:
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi founder President and Union Labour Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today (Sep 10, 2005) asserted that his fight would continue till the formation of separate Telangana state.
"We have taken up the statehood movement to end the injustice being meted out to the region for decades. Our fight will continue till we achieve the goal," Rao said after
inaugurating training programme for the first batch of Telangana Jagaran Sena (TJS) here (Hyderabad).
Amidst controversy surrounding formation of TJS and its projection as a 'militant force', the Union Minister sought to allay apprehensions over possible violence and made it
clear that the Telangana movement would be carried out in a peaceful and Democratic manner.
He, however, warned that any political party or the leader who opposed statehood for Telangana would face the public wrath.
The sub-regional party is planning a convention of TJS here on October 18 to serve as a show of strength in which nearly one-lakh Sena volunteers are expected to participate.
The Union Minister of State for Rural Development A Narendra and the party MLAs were present at the launch of the three-day training programme.
