Sarabjit's sister reacts to Musharraf's remarks Sunday, September 11 2005 11:19 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Amritsar:
Dalbir Kaur, sister of Sarabjit Singh, now on death row in Pakistan, yesterday (Sept 11, 2005) reacted sharply to President Pervez Musharraf's remarks that the alleged
Indian spy had carried out terror attacks, saying it seemed New Delhi had not taken up the case with Islamabad seriously.
"I think the Indian Government has not taken up the case of his brother seriously with Pakistan, otherwise there is no need for such a statement on part of Islamabad," she
said.
Kaur said wishes of people were with the family and she was hopeful of her brother returning safely to India.
Musharraf told a foreign new agency in an interview that Sarabjit had 'carried out terrorist attacks and killed people in Amritsar (Pakistan).'
