Monday, September 12 2005 12:20 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Karachi: Pakistan's coast guard has arrested 24 Indian fishermen and seized their four boats in the Arabian Sea, an official said today (Sept 12, 2005).

The arrests were made Saturday night in waters 140 kilometers southeast of Karachi as scores of Indian boats entered Pakistani waters at the start of the fishing season, said Lt. Commander Attiqur Rahman, a spokesman for Pakistan's Maritime Security Agency.

"More than 200 Indian boats had entered our territory. We gave warnings to them and the four boats did not heed the warnings and we seized them," Rahman said.
