Brain-mapping, lie-detector tests on Preeti Jain Tuesday, September 13 2005 19:32 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Bangalore:
Aspiring Bollywood actress Preeti Jain, arrested for allegedly giving 'supari' (contract) to an aide of don-turned politician Arun Gawli for killing film-maker Madhur Bhandarkar, was today (Sept 13, 2005) subjected to brain-mapping and lie-detector tests at the Forensic Science Laboratory here.
Gawli's aide Naresh Pardeshi, who was also arrested for allegedly hatching a criminal conspiracy with Jain, would undergo the twin tests tomorrow, FSL's Director B M Mohan told PTI here.
Earlier today, accompanied by an investigation team from Mumbai, they were flown into the city. They were initially taken to the Victoria Hospital for routine medical check-up.
"After tests are conducted on them, we will decide whether to go in for narco-analysis test," Mohan said. That decision is likely to be taken tomorrow evening (Sept 14, 2005). Sources said Jain cooperated during the tests.
A metropolitan magistrate in Mumbai had remanded Jain and Pardeshi to police custody till September 16, 2005. Mumbai police had sought these tests in their remand application.
30-year old Jain was in the limelight last year when she lodged a complaint of sexual exploitation against Bhandarkar, alleging that he had raped her after promising her a role in films.
