Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) founder and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, the late C N Annadurai, was today (Sept 15, 2005) remembered by the people of Tamil Nadu on the occasion of his 97th birth anniversary.
At Chennai, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and DMK Chief M Karunanidhi garlanded the statues of the leader at different places.
A bust of the leader was unveiled by MDMK leader Vaiko at the party headquarters in Central Chennai.

As part of the birth anniversary celebrations, the DMK is organizing a women's rally here this evening, demanding reservation of 33 per cent of seats in Parliament and state
Legislatures.
Annadurai became Chief Minister after the 1967 assembly polls, when DMK routed the Congress in Tamil Nadu, after which the latter has not been able to come to power in the state.
