Musharraf meets Annan, discusses issues before UN Friday, September 16 2005 11:03 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf yesterday (Sept 15, 2005) met United Nations (UN) Secretary General Kofi Annan at the UN Headquarters and briefed him about the situation in South Asia in the context of peace process with India for resolution of issues between the two countries, including Kashmir.
During the meeting, they also discussed in detail various issues before the world body pertaining to development, conflict resolution and agenda before the 2005 UN World Summit, which concludes today (Sept 16, 2005).
Musharraf apprised Annan about the situation in South Asia in the context of peace process with India.
The President emphasised the need for greater efforts by the world body to assist developing countries and minimise sufferings of the refugees.
He said Pakistan was still hosting over three million Afghan refugees and was assisting in the reconstruction and stabilisation in Afghanistan.
