Five killed in blast outside Bhuj military base

Ahmedabad: Five people were killed in an explosion in hutment colony close to the military base in Bhuj town of Kutch district this morning (Sept 18, 2005), police said in Ahmedabad.

The victims two women and three children were laborers in a scrap yard, but the exact cause of explosion is not yet known, Deputy Superintendent of Police M H Parmar told sources.

Officials are investigating if the explosion was caused by a crude device or some explosive scrap from the adjoining military base.

Senior police and officials of the bomb disposal squad are investigating further.
