Militants to act once movement on ground is visible
Tuesday, September 20 2005 16:25 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Militant outfits including Hizbul Mujahideen will reciprocate to the peace efforts once they see some 'movement on the ground', former President of Pakistan occupied Kashmir Sardar Abdul Qayyum said in New Delhi today (Sept20, 2005) .

Spotlight: Kashmir is Not Negotiable

"There is nothing in open as yet. Everything is in dark. They (militants) must also be confused but I am sure they will respond once something concrete is happening on the ground," Qayyum, who wields lot of 'respect' among the separatist leaders, told reporters on the sidelines of a 2-day conference attended by leaders from both sides of Kashmir valley.

The PoK leader said that every move was being watched closely and people from both sides of Kashmir were yearning for peace.

"The peace process is going very slow. It needs to gear up and accelerate," he said.

Asked about the presence of militant training camps in PoK, Qayyum said, "There are none. But some indigenous movement is taking place, which cannot be termed as militant training camps."
