No tie-up with Congress for Bihar polls: Paswan Wednesday, September 21 2005 18:23 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Bangalore:
Dismissing the prospects of his party entering into a seat sharing arrangement with the Congress in the coming assembly polls in Bihar, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Chief Ram Vilas Paswan today (Sept 21, 2005) said it was not possible as that party had already aligned with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
Reiterating his firm resolve that LJP would not go with either RJD or National Democratic Alliance (NDA), he said he had been maintaining this stand since the last elections and there was no change in it.
He ruled out the possibility of the coming assembly polls in Bihar throwing up another fractured verdict, and said his party-led front would contest all the 234 seats and get majority.
"No hung assembly this time. Our front LJP, Communist Party of India (CPI) and
Forward Bloc would get majority to form the Government in Bihar," Paswan, here to attend a Parliamentary Consultative Committee on Petrochemicals and Steel, told reporters.
Asked whether the Congress was anticipating that he would align with it, he dismissed it as 'conjecture.'
Paswan spiked rumours that he would climb down from his stand on fighting the coming assembly polls against RJD and the Congress, since his party was part of United Progressive Alliance (UPA), saying, "It won't happen."
