Former PoK Prime Minister calls on A B Vajpayee

New Delhi: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) Sardar Abdul Qayyum today (Sept 22, 2005) expressed support to the ongoing Indo-Pak peace process during a 'courtesy call' on former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Spotlight: Kashmir is NOT negotiable

Qayyum, who heads Muslim Conference of PoK, hailed Vajpayee for initiating the process during the meeting in which Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President L K Advani and former External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh were also present.

"I told him that we appreciate his peace initiative. It should go on," the PoK leader said after the meeting.

He said Vajpayee also emphasised the need for continuation of the Indo-Pak peace process.

"I have never met him earlier. I just came to enquire about his health. That is all," he said.

Qayyum, on his first visit to India, is here to attend a conference on Kashmir, attending a conference of Kashmiris across both sides of the divide.
