New Delhi:
Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) Member of Parliament Ajay Chautala, son of former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, was today (Sept 23, 2005) called for questioning by CBI in connection with Junior Basic Training (JBT) teachers recruitment scam in the state.
Chautala arrived at the CBI headquarters this morning and was being questioned by the sleuths of the agency to ascertain whether different lists were prepared to accommodate teachers of his choice, CBI sources said.
The JBT teacher's recruitment scam had come to light after an IAS officer Sanjiv Kumar filed an application before the Supreme Court alleging that the then Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala and his sons Ajay and Abhay had provided jobs to thousands of applicants by taking money.
Earlier this year, CBI had raided several premises of the Chautala family, including Ajay's official residence at 18,Janpath, and claimed to have seized documents relating to the recruitment process.
The premises of some of their aides in Haryana and Chandigarh were also raided.
