Jayalalithaa, Karunanidhi greet PM on his birthday

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) President M Karunanidhi, greeted the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, on the occasion of his 73rd birthday today (Sept 26, 2005).

"I pray that the Almighty may grant you many more years of good health and peace to serve our nation and the people with renewed strength and vigour", the Chief Minister in her greetings message said. Greeting the Prime Minister on the occasion, Karunaidhi said the nation had greatly benefited "under your stewardship and the country's image has been enhanced".

"Many path breaking schemes, which has so far been living only in people's dream, have started materializing", he said extending his greetings.

Meanwhile, a Pondicherry report said Lt Governor M M Lakhera and Chief Minister N Rangasamy greeted the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the occasion of his birthday today.

In his greetings to the Prime Minister, the Lt Governor wished him a healthy life and several years of distinguished service to the nation.

Chief Minister Rangasamy, in his greetings, said Dr Singh was able to establish a strong bridge between India and other countries.

Former Chief Minister and President of Pondicherry Pradesh Congress Committee P Shanmugham also greeted the Prime minister on his birthday.
