Defamation case against Kushboo adjourned to Oct 5 Tuesday, September 27 2005 16:08 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Chennai:
The defamation case filed against Kushboo, a leading Kollywood actress of yesteryear, over her comments on premartial sex, was adjourned to October five by a city magistrate's court here today (Sept 27, 2005), police said.
The women's wing of the PMK had yesterday filed a defamation suit under section 499 and 500 against Kushboo for her remarks, which, they alleged, tarnished the image of Tamil women and also demanded an apology from her.
The VI metropolitan magistrate adjourned the case to Oct 5 after issuing notice to her. Meanwhile, protests continued in various places over Kushboo's remarks. Some persons, including an advocate, today set fire to her effigy in Chennai, while a women's group held a demonstration in Madurai, condemning her remarks, police said.
