Screening of film on Tiger to mark Wildlife Week
Wednesday, September 28 2005 12:33 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Bangalore: As part of the Wildlife Week, a screening of the film 'Tigers-Fighting Back' and an interactive session with India's leading wildlife biologist Dr Ulhas Karnath, has been organised by the Wildlife Conservation Society on October second and third.

The film traces the work of three wildlife biologist, Dr John Goddrich from Siberia, Dr Tony Lynal from Thailand and Dr Karnath from India who work in partnership with warden and anti-poaching units to ensure that tigers live in peace.

The film travels from the tropical jungles of India to the muggy rainforest of Thailand and to the cold barren lands of Siberia following the elusive trail of the tiger, according to Samba Kumar, Program Manger of Centre for Wild Life Studies, co-organiser of the two day event.

There would be two screenings of the film, first on October second for the general public at Yavanika Auditorium and the second exclusively for school children on October three at the same venue, he said.

An interactive session with Dr Karnath, the pioneer in tracking tigers in India, through radio and author of 'The Ways of the Tiger,' would also be held on the occasion.
