Radhakrishnan assault case trial from October 14 Friday, September 30 2005 12:53 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

The auditor Radhakrishnan assault case, in which Kanchi Seer Jayendra Saraswathi is the prime accused, was today (Sept 30, 2005) shifted for trial to the First Additional Sessions Court here.
The case came up before the Principal Sessions Judge P Murugesan this morning for the first time after it was committed by the XXIII Metropolitan Magistrate.
The metropolitan magistrate, on September 16 had directed all the 11 accused in the case to appear before the Principal Sessions court.
The Principal Sessions Judge then posted the case for October 14 and shifted it to the First Additional Sessions court for trial.
When the matter came up this morning before the, the Seer did not appear before the court and his advocate filed a petition on his behalf seeking to dispense with his presence.
The Judge allowed this after the Special Public Prosecutor expressed no objection.
Another accused in the case, Kadiravan, did not appear as he was indisposed. Other nine accused appeared.
This is the second case against the Seer, the first being temple official Sankaraman murder case.
