Bucharest (Romania): Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat today (Oct 2, 2005) offered floral tributes to a statue of Mahatma Gandhi at a simple function at the India House here on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

The Vice President, who is currently on a goodwill visit to Romania, participated in the function at which 'Ram Dhun' was sung by Romanian artistes much to the delight of Indian and Romanian gathering.

Among those present on the occasion were K Janakrishnamurthi, Robert Kharrsiing (both MPs) and Indian Ambassador to Romania, Ram Mohan.
