Natwar raises Sarabjeet Singh's issue with Kasuri Tuesday, October 4 2005 10:27 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh yesterday (Oct 03, 2005) raised with his Pakistani counterpart Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri the issue of Sarabjeet Singh, who has been sentenced to death here on charges of carrying out bomb blasts in 1990.
Singh told Kasuri that the matter should be dealt from humanitarian angle considering the emotions attached with it in India, sources told sources.
The Pakistan Foreign Minister assured him that the matter will be considered from humanitarian point of view.
Sarabjeet's review petition has already been rejected by the Pakistan Supreme Court and the matter will now go to President Pervez Musharraf for mercy.
Musharraf has already said that he would consider the issue with 'mercy'.
