'No comments', says Neera Yadav on SC verdict

Lucknow: Refusing to comment on the Supreme Court verdict against her appointment, Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Neera Yadav today (Oct 06, 2005) said the matter concerned the state Government which is the respondent in the case.

"As of now I am yet to receive the certified copy of the verdict, and the matter concern the state Government which is the respondent in the case and has to file its reply," she told newspersons here.

To a question whether today's directive was a setback for her, she replied in the negative.

Meanwhile, official sources here said the state government was trying to acquire the certified copy of the judgement and would be studying it.

Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav was consulting his senior officials including the chief secretary on the issue, they added.
