Stamp paper case accused Telgi threatens to end life

Pune: Prime accused in the multi-crore fake stamp paper case Abdul Karim Telgi yesterday (Oct 05, 2005) threatened to end his life in the Yerawada Central Jail, where he is lodged, to protest alleged 'high-handedness' of jail officials.

"I am not given any facilities in the jail and not allowed to meet my relatives, who are co-accused in the case, despite court orders", Telgi told his lawyer Milind Pawar who met him in the jail. Pawar was speaking to reporters after meeting his client.

The jail officials are not even allowing him to give documents and papers to his lawyers despite a court order, Telgi told Pawar and threatened to end his life by going on a fast-unto-death in his cell in protest against the alleged high-handedness of the authorities.
