Nitish demands PM's resignation, Governor's recall
Friday, October 7 2005 12:23 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Patna: National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) Chief Ministerial Candidate for Bihar Nitish Kumar today (Oct 07, 2005) demanded resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and recall of Governor Buta Singh in the wake of Supreme Court judgement declaring dissolution of Bihar assembly 'unconstitutional'.

"We stand vindicated, we had said the house was dissolved unconstitutionally and Supreme Court too has accepted our contention" Kumar told reporters while reacting to the apex court's judgement.

Kumar said the whole exercise (of dissolution) was motivated by 'political lust' and we demand resignation of Prime Minister owning 'moral responsibility' for the 'unconstitutional' dissolution of the house.

"The Prime Minister succumbed to pressure and from which quarters is known to everybody", he said, adding Manmohan Singh should step down immediately "as what he had said that worst type of horse trading prompted the union cabinet to recommend dissolution has been proved wrong by the highest court of the land".
