'SC decision to proceed with Bihar polls welcomed' Friday, October 7 2005 13:08 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Sikandra:
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad today (Oct 07, 2005) welcomed the Supreme Court verdict giving a go ahead for holding the assembly elections in Bihar.
"It is our victory as the Apex Court has not ordered revival of the dissolved assembly and said the elections will be held as per the schedule", he told reporters at Sikandra
where he was electioneering.
He, however, refused to comment on Supreme Court declaring the dissolution of the house based on recommendation of Governor Buta Singh as 'unconstitutional'.
"I will not speak anything about the role of the Governor in the episode", he said.
The RJD leader said his party and its allies would return to power in the state with a thumping majority.
