Tiruchirapalli: Thousands of pilgrims took holy dip in the Cauvery river in Srirangam near here today (Oct 10, 2005) on the concluding day of the 10-day Cauvery Pushkaram Festival.

The event is held once in 12 years to sanctify the river Cauvery. Special pujas were performed to thank the river during the Pushkaram.

Large number of devotees mainly from Andhra Pradesh attended the Pushkaram.
