Deputy CM to meet Dharam on power sharing issue
Monday, October 10 2005 20:14 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Bangalore: A delegation of Janata Dal (JD) Secular (S) leaders led by Deputy Chief Minister M P Prakash would soon be calling on the Chief Minister N Dharam Singh to communicate to him the party's displeasure over delay on appointing new heads of boards and corporations under the power sharing agreement reached between the coalition partners.

Prakash, who also heads the JDS legislature party, told reporters here that he planned to hold preliminary dialogue with state unit Working President H D Kumaraswamy and Industries Minister P G R Sindhia, prior to meeting Singh.

Under the power sharing agreement besides all political appointments, posting of top bureaucrats to key posts will have to be done by Congress in consultation with JDS, Prakash maintained.

He ridiculed the moves by rebel JDS leader Siddaramaiah to petition the Election Commission staking claim to party's symbol, remarking 'those actions can trouble us, but would not yield results to the other group'.

To a question, Prakash said he did not have any illusion that he be projected as the next Chief Minister.

"Unless the party gets majority in elections, any action in projecting any one as next chief minister is not a good measure", he said.
