Mumbai:
Boeing 737 of Air Sahara, which had overshot the main runway at Mumbai airport on Sunday night (Oct 09, 2005), was moved from the soft land and towed to a parking bay early today (Oct 13, 2005), airport sources said.
The towing operation commenced last evening (Oct 12, 2005) and lasted till 7.50 am this morning, the sources said.
The aircraft is now in a parking bay on the main runway and will be towed to a hanger shortly, they added.
The flight operations at the airport will normalise in a few hours after instrument landing system was recalibrated, they said.
The aircraft had overshot the runway while landing and was stuck in the soft land, disrupting normal functioning at the airport for the last three days. Meanwhile, the main runway has been made serviceable and available for flight operations, the sources said.
Director General of Civil Aviation is probing the grounding incident of Air Sahara Boeing, which resulted in closure of main runway for a long time, the sources said.
