Blast in Task Force Office in AP; two persons die Thursday, October 13 2005 15:55 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Hyderabad:
Two persons, including a homeguard, were killed and a police head constable was injured in an explosion caused by gelatine sticks at Police Commissioner's Task Force Office at Begumpet here last night (Oct 12, 2005).
The killed homeguard was identified as Satyanarayana, police said, adding, body of an unidentified person was also found at the blast site.
Police suspected the unknown person of carrying out the explosion.
The man, carrying a bag which might have contained gelatine sticks, entered the Task Force Office on the pretext of meeting the DCP, police said.
When he did not find the DCP, he had a chat with Satyanarayana for a while and then left the office leaving the bag.
Soon an explosion occurred in which two persons were killed, police said, adding, a red alert had been sounded in the city.
DGP Swarnjit Sen told reporters, "First we have to identify the unknown body then only we can come to a conclusion."
The injured head constable was admitted to hospital.
Earlier, police said a head constable was killed in the explosion.
The roof of the building was badly damaged under the impact of the explosion. Windowpanes of adjoining offices were also shattered.
