"My country will appreciate this humanitarian gesture. We are thankful to the people and the Government of India for their assistance," Khan said as he flagged off a Pakistan-bound Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) relief convoy carrying 16,000 blankets, 1,500 tents, 22,000 meters of polysheets and medical aid.

He also thanked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for providing quake aid to Pakistan.

The DSGMC presented the High Commissioner, his deputy Munnawar Bhatti and two of his colleagues with 'siropas', the holy stoles of honor, and shawls and swords in a traditional Sikh welcome at the committee office at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj.

The High Commissioner said Pakistan's Foreign Office was in touch with the Indian High Commission about information regarding Indian nationals missing since last Saturday's killer quake.
