Centre should opine on Bihar SC judgement: Jaya
Monday, October 17 2005 16:58 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Chennai: Describing as 'serious matter' the Supreme Court's verdict declaring the dissolution of Bihar Assembly as null and void, AIADMK supremo and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today (Oct 17, 2005) demanded that the Centre come out with its views on the issue.

Asked for her comments on the apex court's verdict, Jayalalithaa told a press conference that, "it is for the Centre (to come out with its views) as it is a serious matter."

On the Right to Information Act, which came into force recently, she said her government had already issued a notification about the constitution of the Information Commission, as stipulated by the Act.

The commission members would be appointed after she held a meeting with the leader of the opposition in the state assembly and the State Information Minister, she said.
