Militants attack Tarigami's residence, MLA safe Tuesday, October 18 2005 10:26 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

A militant and a security person were killed when ultras stormed into the official residence of Communist Party of India (CPI) Marxist (M) MLA Mohammad Yusuf Tarigami today morning (Oct 18, 2005) in the high security Tulsibagh area here.
Tarigami, also CPI (M) state general secretary, was present in the house along with his members when the ultras, suspected to be two in number, struck at around 9 AM this morning, official source said here.
The security personnel deployed at Tarigami's residence retaliated, killing one ultra. One security personnel was also killed in the encounter.
Tarigami and his family are safe, they said, adding one militant is still suspected to be hiding in the premises.
The attack took place in the high security Tulsibagh area of the state capital where residences of several Jammu and Kashmir Ministers are located.
The militants opened indiscriminate fire and also lobbed a grenade as they entered the residence, officials said adding a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel was also killed in the firing.
