Apex Court rejects plea seeking stay on Bihar polls

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today (Oct 14, 2005) dismissed a plea seeking stay on election process for the Bihar Assembly.

The application in this regard was filed by advocate Viplav Sharma, which came for hearing before a Bench, headed by Justice Y K Sabharwal.

A Constitution Bench headed by Justice Sabharwal had, on October 7, held as unconstitutional the dissolution of Bihar Assembly based on the report of Governor Bhuta Singh but decline to restore the Assembly.
