NTC moves to SC against Bombay High Court verdict

Coimbatore: National Textile Corporation (NTC) would move the Supreme Court against the recent Bombay High Court verdict setting aside the land sale by five NTC mills in Mumbai, a senior textile ministry official has said.

"NTC will move to Supreme Court and the Textile ministry will support it," R Poornalingam, Union Textile Secretary, told reporters yesterday (Oct 18, 2005) night.

As the lands in Mumbai were already sold, NTC had to appear to the Apex Court. we will abide by the ruling of Apex Court, Poornalingam said.

When asked about the impact of the court order on other deals like selling of lands by other NTC mills in the country, he said that he was yet to go through the full text of the judgement and till then he could not make any observation on it.
