Advani asks Muslims to vote NDA to power in Bihar Thursday, October 20 2005 19:14 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Katihar:
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President L K Advani today (Oct 20, 2005) asked the Muslims not to be swayed by 'empty promises' made by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)-led alliance and vote National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to power for education, health, employment and overall development of Bihar.
"You have not to be swayed by the slew of empty promises being made by RJD-led alliance but vote for NDA for education, health, employment and overall development of Bihar," he said addressing an election rally here.
Taking a dig at RJD supremo Lalu Prasad for taking along Saudi terrorist Osama Bin Laden look-alike for electioneering, Advani said, "You have to make up your mind. Is Laden your role model or A P J Abdul Kalam. I don't think Laden can be your role model."
Launching a broadside against the centre's United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government for having foisted on the state the second election in a year by getting the state assembly dissolved 'illegally,' the BJP leader said, "This infliction can be turned into a blessing in disguise. This is an opportunity which you can use to change the face of Bihar for better by voting NDA to power."
He said NDA's charge that the house was dissolved only to prevent it from forming its Government was vindicated by the supreme court which held the dissolution unconstitutional.
"I am sometimes amazed how such a politically conscious people tolerated RJD misrule for 15 long years," he said and expressed confidence that NDA would be able to form its Government this time.
