Grenade explosion injures nine in Srinagar Blast

Srinagar: Nine persons including three security men were injured in a powerful grenade explosion by militants at Batmaloo bus stand here today (Oct 21, 2005), official sources said.

The grenade was lobbed by militants towards security personnel posted at the crowded bus stand around 4.45 PM, the sources said adding that it exploded on the main road with a big bang resulting in injuries to nine persons including two CRPF jawans and a policeman.

All the nine injured have been shifted to a hospital and the whole area was cordoned off by the security forces to nab the militants involved in the attack, they said.
