AP: Visakhapatnam airport still closed due to rains
Thursday, October 27 2005 16:54 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Hyderabad: Visakhapatnam airport, which was scheduled to open today (Oct 27, 2005), remained closed following heavy rains since morning, an airport official said.

Airport authorities had yesterday announced that flights would resume from today after the runway was found fit for operation of flights.

However, rainwater has inundated the airport, prompting authorities to cancel flights for the 14th consecutive day.

The airport was closed on October 14 due to inundation following heavy rains and overflowing of Meghadrigadda reservoir.
