Chennai airport working 'completely normal': AAI

Chennai: After delays and diversion of some flights yesterday (Oct 27, 2005) due to heavy rains, the situation today (Oct 28, 2005) at the city airport was 'completely normal' and all flights operated on schedule, the Airports Authority of India General Manager (Operations) S Subramaniam, said today.

He told PTI that he had inspected the runways, which were 'fine'. The taxiway was also 'normal' and all flights, particularly domestic ones, left the airport on time, he said.

The flights leaving Chennai for Port Blair, Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai left on time.

Inbound flights arrived on schedule. Visibility was also normal, he said.

Yesterday six international flights were diverted to Bangalore, Thiruvananthapuram and Colombo.
