Hyderabad: An ex-gratia of Rs one lakh was announced to those who lost their family members in the Delta Fast Passenger train accident in Nalgonda district of Andhra Pradesh today (Oct 29, 2005).

The ex-gratia would be in addition to Rs four lakh that would be given from railway relief fund, Union Minister of State for Railways R Velu told reporters here after visiting the accident site.

The family members of those killed in the accident would be also be provided with a government job, he said. The injured would be given Rs 15,000.

"About 1,000 people have been rescued so far and 17 bodies were extracted so far," Velu said.

Seven bogies of Repalle-Secunderabad Delta Fast passenger got derailed and fell into a reservoir between Ramnnapet and Veligonda railway stations in Nalgonda district around 4.15 am this morning.
