Srinagar: As part of smooth transfer of power transfer to Congress on November 2, Jammu and Finance minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig was today (Oct 30, 2005) unanimously elected leader of People's Democratic Party (PDP) legislature party.

Baig is also likely to be the Deputy Chief Minister in the Ghulam Nabi Azad led Congress Government, sources said after a meeting at outgoing Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's official residence here in which Baig was elected the (PDP) leader.

Congress is slated to take over the mantle of governance from PDP as part of power sharing agreement reached between the two parties three years back.
