Stepping up aid to Pakistan, China has sent a Government delegation to Islamabad to discuss modalities of reconstruction in the quake-hit areas, a senior official said here (Beijing) today (Nov 01, 2005).
"China has sent a Governmental delegation to Pakistan on Monday (Oct 31, 2005) to confer with the Pakistani Government on the reconstruction of earthquake-hit areas," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan told reporters.
Led by the Assistant Minister of Commerce, Chen Jian, the delegation is composed of officials and experts from the ministries of Commerce, Foreign Affairs, Finance, Construction and Civil Affairs, China Seismological Bureau, Import and Export Bank of China, and China Academy of Building Research.
The Chinese Government has paid much attention to reconstruction of the earthquake-hit area of Pakistan, which has suffered from grave damages to local infrastructure, Chen said prior to his departure.
