UP: 4 wagons of goods train derailed near Kanpur

Kanpur: Several thousand passengers were stranded at Kanpur central station as four wagons of a goods train derailed at Govindpuri railway station here affecting traffic between Kanpur and Delhi, railway sources said.

About half a dozen trains were running late due to the derailment of shunting goods train late last night (Nov 02, 2005), they said.

While the derailed wagons were removed from the site, the damaged tracks would be ready for normal traffic after eight hours, the sources added.
