Major fire breaks out near Kullu, 75 houses gutted

Shimla: About 75 houses were gutted and 150 cattle head perished in a devastating fire in Shiela village, 55 km from Kullu.

No loss of life has been reported in the blaze that occurred last night (Nov 02, 2005), Additional District Magistrate, Kullu, H R Chauhan told sources adding about 75 families have been rendered homeless.

The fire was reportedly caused by a short circuit but the exact cause was yet to be ascertained.

Blankets, utensils, ration and other relief material were being supplied to the victims, he said.
