Ahmedabad: Gujarat Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Patan district Shankar Chaudhary was arrested today (Nov 05, 2005) in connection with his role in a post-Godhra communal riots case, police sources said here today.

Chaudhary, an MLA from Radhanpur town of the district was arrested on murder and rioting charges and is in custody of Patan local crime branch, a senior investigating official told sources.

The MLA was booked for leading a rioting mob and also allegedly shooting people of minority community in the village where in two persons were killed on March 1, 2002.
