Laloo condemns 'manner' of Shahabuddin's arrest Sunday, November 6 2005 09:57 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Patna:
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) President Laloo Prasad yesterday (Nov 05, 2005) strongly condemned the 'manner' in which his party MP Mohammed Shahabuddin was arrested in Delhi and demanded adequate security for the Lok Sabha member from Siwan.
"The conduct of the police while arresting our MP was highly deplorable and I strongly condemn it. I demand full security for him," Prasad told sources.
The controversial MP from Siwan was arrested at his official residence in Delhi and taken to the police station in a 'lungi' and without slippers, he said.
Claiming that Shahabuddin was 'falsely implicated' in criminal cases, the Railway Minister said the MP had not visited his constituency for a long time, still a number of criminal cases were being instituted against him.
