Vocker report: Natwar's son denies details of deals Sunday, November 6 2005 12:54 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Jagat Singh, the son of External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh, who is in the centre of a storm over the alleged oil-for-food scam, on Saturday (Nov 05, 2005) said Andaleep Sehgal of Hamdan Export, which had bought oil under the deal from Iraq, was his acquaintance but had nothing to do with his business dealings.
On being asked whether he knew Sehgal, he told sources, "Andaleep Sehgal is also our acquaintance but as far as his business, his trade or his financial transactions are concerned I am not familiar with it. I have no dealings with that company."
Singh remarked, "I also know Anil and Mukesh Ambani. They are my friends. As many as 125 companies were doing business in Iraq under the oil-for-food programme. These companies did not commit any crime nor did they break any law".
