BJP leader Ravishanker to campaign again in Bihar Sunday, November 6 2005 20:05 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Patna:
Exactly a month after sustaining gun shot injuries during an election rally at Nokha in Bihar's Rohtas district, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ravishanker Prasad has come out of a Delhi hospital midway through the treatment to hit the campaign trail for the poll again from November 9.
"It seems God wants me to complete the task of ensuring the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) victory in Bihar. That is why I took special permission from the doctors attending on me to resume campaigning in rest of the two phases of polls," Prasad, whose left arm was still covered by plaster, told reporters.
Prasad's left hand was badly wounded in the attack while he was addressing a rally along with BJP general secretary Pramod Mahajan on October 6.
Going back to the incident, the former union minister said, "The attack seems to be part of a well-planned plot of the forces hostile to the NDA to eliminate me and Mahajan."
Blaming lack of security arrangements at the meeting venue at Nokha and the role of the administration afterwards, Prasad demanded that the Prime Minister order a high-level inquiry into the incident.
He did not specify which agency should conduct the inquiry saying, "It depends on the PM to get the whole incident probed by CBI, special task force sleuths or any other qualified agency.
