Controversial Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Mohammad Shahbuddin, was sent on transit remand of two days after his bail plea was rejected by the Metropolitan Magistrate today (Nov 06, 2005).
Shahbuddin, who was arrested in a dramatic manner from his official residence yesterday, was produced before the Metropolitan Magistrate, Sanjeev Jain, who rejected his bail application and granted the Bihar Police his transit remand for two days.
The MP was produced at the Magistrate's residence.
Shahbuddin will now be taken to his home-town Siwan and produced before a local court there.
The Lok Sabha MP from Siwan, has been named in as many as 34 cases including the kidnapping and suspected killing of two Communist Party of India Marxist (CPI-M) activists and a Students Union leader and had as many as eight non-bailable arrest warrants pending against him.
