Sunday, November 6 2005 12:42 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Lucknow: A district court hearing the poetess Madhumita Shukla murder case on Saturday (Nov 05, 205) issued a warrant against the victim's sister Nidhi, a key witness, after she failed to depose before it.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Shiv Charan Sharma, while issuing the bailable warrant against Nidhi Shukla, said she should surrender before the police or a court and seek bail after furnishing sureties worth Rs 1,000.

Nidhi was first of the several CBI witnesses who had to appear before the court to depose in the case.

Madhumita was shot dead on May 9, 2003 at her posh Paper Mill Colony residence. Former Uttar Pradesh Minister Amarmani Tripathi, his wife Madhumani and three others have been accused in the murder case.
