Dharam seeks Rs 1,167 crore flood relief package
Monday, November 7 2005 11:40 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Bangalore: Karnataka has sought a Central assistance of Rs 1,167 crore towards flood-relief operations in the state, which recently received heavy rains that caused devastation in the city and some southern districts.

A state delegation led by the Chief Minister N Dharam Singh called on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Home Minister Shivraj Patil at New Delhi on Saturday (Nov 5, 2005) and apprised them of the havoc and sought assistance modelled on 'tsunami-relief' package that the Centre had come out with.

Singh told reporters here, on Sunday, that both the Prime Minister and Patil gave a patient hearing and assured them of Central assistance.
