NDA to meet President, demand Natwar's removal
Monday, November 7 2005 15:01 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Disappointed with the Government for not ordering a CBI probe into the Volcker committee findings on Iraqi oil pay-offs, an National Democratic Alliance (NDA) delegation is meeting President A P J Abdul Kalam today (Nov 7, 2005) to demand the removal of External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh and registration of criminal cases in the matter.

The delegation, being led by Leader of Opposition and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President L K Advani is to urge the President to advise the Prime Minister to drop Singh from the Cabinet and seek institution of a regular case by CBI against people named in the report.

Reacting to the appointment of the Virendra Dayal committee last night, the party had said that it lacked the jurisdiction and authority to collect evidence from abroad.
