Pakistan begins building temporary bridge in Teetwal Monday, November 7 2005 20:14 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Srinagar:
Pakistan today (Nov 07, 2005) began construction of a temporary bridge in Teetwal to facilitate movement of relief material and members of divided families in quake-hit areas on either side of the Line of Control, official sources said here today.
The construction material required for the bridge was airlifed by Pakistani authorities to Nowshere area in PoK as a 30-member engineering team began work on the project, the sources said.
After initial hiccups on who would construct the bridge across the Kishan Ganga river, Indian and Pakistani armies agreed on November four that the latter would undertake the task.
Although, the Teetwal Nowshere crossing point was slated to open on November 10, it would depend on the Pakistani army completing the bridge on time.
